WATERVILLE, Maine — An Oakland woman who has been in trouble for domestic violence before is facing a felony charge after an assault on her ex-boyfriend, according to police.
Jenna Porter, 27, who has a prior conviction for domestic violence assault on her rap sheet, wasn’t too happy that her ex-boyfriend was seeing another girl, according to Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.
On Monday afternoon, Porter allegedly decided to take matters into her own hands, going to an Elm Street residence where she knew the man had been staying, Rumsey said.
The man’s new girlfriend happened to be there, and Rumsey said Porter made threats to kill the other woman.
Porter’s ex stepped in and intervened when she tried to go after the woman, receiving scratches on his neck and face in the process.
Porter was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault, a Class C felony due to her prior conviction, and a misdemeanor charge of criminal threatening, Rumsey said.
Porter was booked into the Kennebec County Correctional Facility, where she remained Wednesday. Her court date is set for Nov. 27.

keep it classy, waterville.
Gee, I can’t imagine why any man would want to leave this one. Ladies, equality did not mean acting as badly as some males do. Get a clue!
Might have been worse…..They both could have been beating on him.
What is with all the violent women in Maine?
Sounds like jail without bail until trial to me.
I see a lot of stories about male victims of domestic violence in the “paper”. Where are the hotlines, shelters, groups, ect.. for them? Domestic abuse is just so wrong – it really doesn’t matter what the gender of the perpetrator or victim is, in my opinion.
I hope this guy gets all of the help he needs. I hope all domestic violence victims, male and female, get the help they need.
