ROCKLAND, Maine — A 17-year-old Lincolnville teen is being held at a youth detention facility following his arrest early Thursday morning in connection with an armed robbery on Halloween in Rockland.
The teen, whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile, was arrested at a home on Camden Street in Rockland at about 2 a.m. Thursday, according to Rockland Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower.
The youth was charged with robbery, taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland and then sent to the Mountain View Youth Development Center in Charleston.
The reported robbery occurred shortly after midnight, when the teen and two juvenile females received a taxi ride from Waldoboro to James Street in Rockland. When the taxi arrived on James Street, the male teen pulled out a knife and demanded all the money the cab driver had. The driver turned over the money and the three youths fled on foot from the scene.
The driver was not injured.
Rockland police investigated the case and by 2 a.m. had tracked down the 17-year-old male.
The two girls will not be charged, Tower said.
Detective Sgt. James Pease, Sgt. Matthew Lindahl, and Officers Scott Solorzano, Joel Neal, Andrew Redden and John Bagley participated in the investigation that led to the apprehension of the suspected robber, Tower said.

NYC comes to Rockland :(
A 17 year old “juvenile” doing violent crime such as this should get the individual’s name and his parents names published in the paper…..
His name will become public information if and when the state files a juvenile petition that alleges a crime that is a felony.
You sound like Ryan Robbins….LOL
You do mean the handsome Canadian actor……
Hand over that Butterfinger or I’ll shoot!
Why are the girls not charged ?
Maybe the girls didn’t know what he was planning? To be an accomplice, they’d have to have participated in the crime, in some way. If they didn’t know he was going to do what he did, they have no culpability.
He’ll be added to the Maine Prison rape statistics.
First thing that came to mind, was it? Got some kind of secret fetish in back of your mind or what? LOL Seriously all this male rape and Bubba crap might be good for a laugh with a couple like-minded cretins, but it’s played, worn-out, passe. What rational male reads a crime article and comes up with the guy getting sodomized — as some sort of punishment, no less — and then posts it for the world to see? That’s really twisted thinking right there. Might be time for a check-up from the neck up…

If you had read the whole paper instead of just the one article, you would have seen this. Maybe you should redirect your comments to the author.
Dude, I read the article about Maine prisons, and it’s really got nothing to do with commenting a couple days later about guy getting butt-banged. Honest, it really doesn’t open the floodgates for snide remarks and stupid jokes about male rape. It does, however, seem to bring into question the mentality of somebody whose mind goes there immediately. “Got two years for mopery with intent to gawk! Boy he’ll get it down at prison, that’ll teach him!” Get it yet? Crime = punishment = being gang-banged — and that’s somehow a rational train of thought? Pally, please…
Why cant the name of this armed robber be published , so as to alert
all the law abiding citizens of the area to be extra careful.
I dont give a flying fig how “old” the armed robber is.
But I care greatly ” who” the armed robber is.
