WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Angelika Kennedy MacKay, 56, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Oct. 20, 2012, and the universe gained another star. Her family and loved ones were with her when she passed and it was a quiet, peaceful time. As is her way, she will continue to help others through the donation of her organs, and her spirit will continue to thrive in this world.
Born in Germany, Angelika traveled the world, touching people’s souls and making a difference in their lives. A strong advocate for animal rights, women’s issues and leading a healthy life, her only goal in life was to make this a better world. She was most recently touching people’s lives at Blue Mercury in DuPont Circle and conducting nutritional counseling. The recipient of many awards and accolades, Angelika will long be remembered.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Thomas MacKay; her mother, Ilse; her son, Christopher and his wife, Karen; her grandchildren, Kierra, Isabella and Alexander; her sister, Sylvia; and her extended family.
The family received friends noon-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Mountcastle/Turch Funeral Home and Chapel, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, Va. A celebration of Angelika’s life took place immediately after.
