GORHAM, Maine — A Scarborough man was killed in an early-morning, single-vehicle accident in Gorham on Friday, according to police.

Jason Fowler, 31, was heading toward his residence on Burnham Road when he lost control of his 2001 Buick Regal around 2:30 a.m., Gorham police Sgt. Dan Young said.

Fowler was ejected from the car, which burst into flames on impact, the sergeant said. Fowler was pronounced dead at the scene.

Young said speed was a factor in the crash, and police are awaiting toxicology tests to determine whether Fowler had any alcohol in his system at the time of the accident.
