Shoot to kill
This is why I’m always saying that if I owned or managed a business that was open to the public, that I would not allow folks to wear their hoodies. I’d make it a policy that employees were to point to the person and YELL for them to remove their hoodie. This would hopefully draw attention to the individual so that others can hopefully identify them if need be. I hate hoodies – always have and always will.
What a silly thing to say.
What’s so silly about that? No different than a fancy restaurant having a dress code. It’s no different than being asked to remove your hat in the court room or church.
There is a reason you don’t own a business I guess.
And what reason is that, may I ask? Because I’d want my customers to feel safe? Because I’d want to be sure that the security cameras get a clear shot of everyone who visits?
You wouldn’t have any customers.
Well, if they were hoodlums who insisted on wearing their hoodie over their head all the time and scraggly torn jeans worn low with their underwear showing, then that would be great!
I don’t think this is such a bad idea. Most banks ask customers to remove sunglasses and hoodies when they enter. I don’t see the harm in asking someone to remove their hood and/or sunglasses.
Sunglasses at night , in Maine?
Why not ??
Not right to ask them to remove this fashion accessory.
The customer just might be a movie star or aspiring rapper.
Hoody and shades may be part of ” The Look ” the person
is trying to cultivate.
Profiling has no place in an inclusive society.
Just as you are hollering to remove hoodie he shows you a gun. That’s why you never be a hero. Just give them what they want. Most companies instruct their employees to surrender what ever a robber wants. Companies have fired heros for not following the rules of the business.
I agree. I wouldn’t try to be a hero. Once they brandish or mention a firearm, simply comply. But until then, ask ’em LOUDLY to remove their headgear so that others hear you and hopefully get a good glimpse at them. If they’re armed, then maybe we’ll be lucky enough to have one or more of the other patrons carrying, too.
I understand trying to protect yourself, but that kind of thinking is a recipe for disaster. Hopefully you would come out ahead. Guns don’t always protect in the way we would like them to. Usually its the innocent that gets hurt.
Hoodies are primarily worn by minorities and white youngsters who want to be thought of as minorities. They wear them because they cannot afford the hats worn by young republicans who want each minority to die of influenza. Your comment can be construed as racist and some state government agency should research your conduct. Hoodies for Hope!
probably another bath salts consumer. this goes to prove you’re not safe no matter where you live.
One of the witnesses/employee said the robber thanked them as he went out the door. Polite SOB.
Sorry to hear.. Love Cindys.. Sorry it happened to them or anyone for that matter.
It’s not the hoodies that make a person bad, it’s the choices that he or she makes. Who are you to judge what clothing makes a person good or bad. My store was robbed by a nice dressed person comming from church and wearing a cross around his neck.
Its not the hoodies that bother its the pants to the knees with the undies up under the arm pits that make for an uncomfortable stare. Can you imagine trying to run in that getup. Always pulling them up. I guess im just to old.
And that person was just as deserving of several rounds in the X ring as the perp in the hoodie and sunglasses!
I’m not judging anyone. I’m simply stating (IMHO) that there’s only three reasons to wear headgear indoors: One is that you’re armed, one is that you simply have bad manners and the other is that you’re trying to hide your identity. As far as I’m concerned, EVERYONE is armed and dangerous!
I agree I wear hoodies cause they are warm in this states cold weather and I am the most honest person you could ever meet. Too bad thugs make people judge all by attire or looking different than all the rest. Remember you can’t judge a book by its cover.
Just curious…but how’d ya know he was coming from church?
Slowly, the insideousness creeps it’s way north.
My friends have asked me several times why I ALWAYS carry a concealed firearm.
This is just one more example.
Even in the far north of the County, signs are beginning to appear on the doorways of businesses,
“No Helmets, No Hoodies, No Sunglasses”
Not that the sign would make a difference to the perp, which may mean the difference between his leaving the premises standing up or being carried out in a body bag…..which is the preferred method.
I agree phantom2drive,. one on my person and one hidden in car in a safe place when I travel as 2 are better than 1. No one and no where is safe anymore and you never now someone’s intentions. Best money I ever spent on safety class and CCW permit. I just read the BDN story of a thief or thieves were brash enough to break in and steal from a sleeping persons bedroom. I invite any idiot thief to break into my house or try to steal from a business in front of me and after the proper warning to stop and surrender, their last one way trip will be to Augusta and the ME .
Agreed. But I always carry 1 on person and 1 safely in car. Best money ever spent on safety class and permit. Just read in paper about brash thief or thieves stealing from sleeping persons room. If anyone robs in front of me or breaks into my house, after proper warning to stop and surrender their last trip will be to medical examiner.
Caribou is not so isolated that this type of crime does not happen whether committed by a local drug mush brain or a transiant mush brain. To go in armed makes them fair game. Too bad the last thing he did not see was the barrel of a 12 guage.
Anyone knowing of this POS should call in a tip before he hurts someone you know or love. Hope your hoodie strings get wrapped around your neck and cut off what little oxygen you have going to your non-thinking brain. Stand on the corner and ask for change you coward instead of scaring honest hard working women with a gun. . So sorry Cindy and your devoted, smart employees and I am so glad that no one was hurt. I am sure everyone has eaten at least once at Cindy’s Sub Shop and let us all go in this week and order another or two to show thugs we will support honesty not thievery.
