HOULTON, Maine — Two Houlton men allegedly found in possession of pornographic images of children have been indicted by the Aroostook County grand jury.
David B. Copley, 61, and Will Copley, 30, both were indicted on charges of possession of sexually explicit material. The images were allegedly found on computers in the home they shared, which is located diagonally across the street from a school.
Both men were arrested by the Houlton Police Department in August. Information about their indictments was released on Friday by the district attorney’s office.
Police executed a search warrant at their School Street home and seized a laptop, a desktop computer and an external hard drive. Evidence of pornographic images involving minors were observed on the devices, according to Houlton Police Chief Butch Asselin.
The digital images allegedly were downloaded by the Copleys using peer-to-peer software, which allows computers to form a decentralized network to share files between users.
Police do not believe local children are involved.
Each man is facing a Class C felony charge, punishable by up to five years in prison and $5,000 in fines.
Asselin said that the arrests were the result of a lengthy investigation conducted jointly with the Maine Computer Crimes Task Force.

If they are found guilty,I hope they get the maximum sentence.
they will only get $500 bail and at most 3 months in jail + time served
a real shame, that the justice system does not allow for harsher punishment…. I have absolutely NO pity for people who harm others.. especially children!!!!! If I was younger, I would advocate until no end, for change!!
Shady looking characters, wouldn’t hire ’em to rake leaves or dig ditches…
Does anyone know how you report online child pornography?
Calling the police would be a good start.
We need to start throwing these fecal stains in the general population in prison, not protective custody. It would save the tax payers millions and stop their tainted bloodline dead in it’s tracks.
If it wasn’t for drugs and child porn, I think the BDN would probably shut down for lack of anything newsworthy………….. Just a reminder of how sick our society is…………………
