SULLIVAN, Maine — Police are searching for a local man who has been reported missing by his wife.

According to Deputy Shane Campbell of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Herbert Hatch’s wife called police at midnight Wednesday, to report that she had not seen or heard from her husband for more than three days. Hatch, 66, left the house with clothes and medication at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, but “never returned,” Campbell wrote in a summary of the incident.

Other police agencies have been alerted that Hatch is missing and requested to keep an eye out for him. Campbell indicated that Hatch was driving his 2005 silver Chevrolet pickup truck with Maine Purple Heart license plate 4349 when he left home.

Campbell was not in the office early Wednesday so additional information was not immediately available.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone who may have information about Hatch’s location is asked to contact Campbell at the sheriff’s department at 667-7575.

      1. You’re assuming that what’s being said on her Facebook is the truth. Until the police say he’s no longer missing, he is. I also hope he’s ok.

  1. Umm yeah….He is not “missing”….it says right on her FB page that he left her for another woman he met on the internet. So although she may be missing him,he knows where he is and his leaving was intentional.

    1. friend your NOT!!!!! …. he is 66 and hypothetically running off with a Chickie from the internet… good riddance I say, the old Foo-

  2. It says in this article, that his wife called police at midnight on Wednesday. This article was posted on Nov 21 at 1:26 PM. Midnight, on Wednesday is still 17 minutes away from right now….as I am posting this…….

  3. Something sounds fishy here. He took clothing and medication, at 3:30 PM, (she seems too specific about this and obviously knew he was leaving) but it took her 3 days to report him “missing”?
