The headline calls the the big green thing a Christmas tree. The story refers to a “holiday tree.” Which is it?
Call it a holiday tree…call it a Christmas tree…call it a Hannukah tree…call it anything you want – you won’t get any argument from me.
It’s a CHRISTMAS TREE!!! Don’t like it then don’t celebrate the birth of our Christ and keep your mouth shut. It’s our holiday.
LOL. I truly don’t believe there is any reference to Christmas trees in the Bible.
Truthfully, the decorating of Christmas trees predates Christianity by centuries, in multiple cultures. In fact, the entire reason we celebrate the birth of Christ at this time of year is because there was already such a widely celebrated holiday around the Winter Solstice.
So it’s not really “your holiday” at the exclusion of all non-Christians. But don’t worry, I’ll still happily wish you BOTH a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I like your attitude, very open ended
I was brought up calling it a Christmas Tree and I’m not even religious. Doesn’t bother me and I don’t think it’s worth the effort of changing it’s name or creating an argument over
the liberals are constantly trying to change names and traditions that have been around for centuries. they’ll eventually change it to their bland, uncultured idea of how winter should be.
You do realize that Christmas was originally a pagan holiday, right?
Jesus was not born in the wintertime, the Bible makes that pretty clear.
WRONG!!! It’s a Christmahanakwanzika bush!!!
Don’t like it, then don’t celebrate our wonderful holiday. You can’t have it.
History of Christmas Trees
Long before the advent of Christianity, plants and trees that remained green all year had a special meaning for people in the winter. Discover the history of the Christmas tree, from the earliest winter solstice celebrations, to Queen Victoria and all the way to the annual lighting of the Rockefeller Center tree.

just wait a little while longer,
the tradition of any trees during this time of year, the tradition of any “lights” will soon be destroyed by the politically correct left that seems bent on forcing their agenda down the throats of everyone else.
“holiday tree”, what a crock of bullsh–.
how far will this politically correct nonsense go?
Wow, you can even use Christmastime as a reason to be angry at the world?
Nobody’s changing YOUR traditions.
Too much drama.
I’m offended. Please call it a holiday tree.
Too bad, be reasonable
Love Christmas trees and lights and this entire season!
Happy Christmahanakwanzika one and all!!!
And it’s a lovely Christmahanakwanzika bush!!!
And a happy Festivus to you, kind sir!
Which “holiday” is the tree for? Christmas as no other holiday uses a tree. Please call it what it is, a Christmas Tree.
The Winter Solstice celebrations have featured the tannenbaum for millennia.
Seriously, the use of Christmas Trees for celebrations in late December predates Christianity by hundreds of years.
