HERMON – Flora L. (Tibbetts) Lord, 86, wife of the late Thurlo A. Lord, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Dec. 7, 2012, at her home. She was born June 10, 1926, in Hermon, the daughter of Harold C. and Hazel (Goodspeed) Tibbetts.
Flora lived most of her life in Hermon and was a graduate of Hermon High School, class of 1944. She was longtime and active member of Hermon Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a true Christian lady and as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Flora is survived by a daughter, Golda Megargel and her husband, Wayne, of Branford, Fla.; two sons, Ronald Lord and his wife, Pat, of Norman, Okla., and Vaughn Lord and his wife, Honey, of Bangor; one sister, Arlene Lord of Scarborough; three brothers, Earl Tibbetts of Dexter, Ralph Tibbetts of Fallbrook, Calif., and Roscoe Tibbetts of Effingham, N.H.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her church family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thurlo, in 2004; sisters, Esther, Pearl and Gladys; and brothers, Wallace, Everett and Paul.
Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Hermon Baptist Church, 2496 Route 2, Hermon, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor, officiating. After the funeral service everyone is invited for a continued time of fellowship and refreshment in the church’s fellowship hall. Private interment will be beside her husband at Snow’s Corner Cemetery, Hermon.
