BANGOR, Maine — A local woman was charged with felony theft on Wednesday after Walmart store security reportedly caught her stealing from the register she operated, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Thursday.
Lameisha Brown, 21, was charged around 4:45 p.m. by Officer Tim Shaw, who happened to be at the store on another matter, the sergeant said.
Store security told Shaw they had just completed interviewing an “employee who had been caught stealing over $1,000 in cash from the registers over a certain amount of time,” Edwards said, reading from the police report.
After conducting his own interview and reviewing video surveillance tapes, Shaw charged Brown and then escorted her off the property.
“It’s a Class C felony because it’s over $1,000,” Edwards said. If convicted of the felony crime, Brown could face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
Why didn’t Walmart do something about her when they first discovered her stealing from the cash register?

wal*mart has a tendency to know that if they do it once(thieves) , they will do it again, Why get her for stealing $50 when you can get her for stealing over a thousand.. is wal*mart out money.. yes.. no.. maybe? in the long run someone is paying..

Well no, but thats comparing kraft macaroni and cheese to great value brand… $50 is probably like a penny to a person like you and me to wal*mart.. in the past they have let people steal thousands of dollars worth of tvs from an Ellsworth store #1932 before they called the police..
