BANGOR – Marilyn Loretta (Page) Braley passed from this world Dec. 16, 2012. She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Providence, R.I.
She graduated from Orono High School in three years time and went on to marry Vernon Thomas Braley of Veazie, in September 1945. Marilyn was a homemaker and active in Order of the Eastern Star, surviving as the worthy matron of Cushing Chapter No. 84 several times. She was also active in the Winterport PTA, Winterport Methodist Church and Winterport Girl Scouts. She was employed by Bangor High School and food service. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and was a water safety instructor for the American Red Cross.
She is survived by four children, Loretta Braley Solak and husband, John, Kathleen Braley Laplante and her husband, Keith, James Vernon Braley and his wife, Susan, and Christi Braley Shaver and her husband, Fred. Also surviving are three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Vernon; and young son, Thomas Orrin Braley, age 5 years.
Interment and services will be in the spring and announced by Greenlawn Funeral Directors, Bangor.
