MADISON – Darleen J. (Brown) McEwen, 71, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 15, 2012, in Skowhegan, with loved ones by her side. She was born March 3, 1941, in Skowhegan, to Clayton and Eva Brown, previously of Solon.
A beloved mom, sister and friend, she left behind five sons and one daughter. She was a homemaker most of her life, caring for her children. Darleen married Harold L. McEwen in 1961. Harold passed away Sept. 12, 1985. Darleen loved her dogs, Sassy and Casey. She liked her Facebook friends and family, watching birds and growing her roses.
She is survived by sons, Ronald and his wife, Teresa, of Madison, Timothy and his wife, Molly, of Knox, Jeff of Corinna, Randall of Dexter and Robert and his wife, Holly, of Newport; and one daughter, Brenda McEwen of Belfast. She is also survived by two brothers and three sisters, Deanna Gilblair of Skowhegan, Linda Breingan of East Madison, Ronald Brown of Solon, Roger Brown of Skowhegan and Robin Judd of Dover-Foxcroft; several cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Burial of ashes will be in the spring. A celebration of life will take place 1 p.m. Dec. 23 at Snowhawk Snowmobile Club, Route 2, Canaan Road, Skowhegan.
