ORRINGTON, Maine — An incident Thursday morning that initially was described as a stabbing is under investigation by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department, but no charges have been filed.
“We got a call at 8:02 a.m. for a reported stabbing in Orrington,” said Penobscot County Sheriff’s Sgt. Roy Peary. “We were told a brother called stating his brother’s girlfriend stated she had been stabbed by her boyfriend. Upon arrival, the report was there was no stabbing and it was all misreported, just a bad cut on her arm that resulted from an accident.”
Due to the initial report of a stabbing, the detectives division was called in to investigate further while the female, who had a visible, bleeding cut on her arm, was treated.
“She said she had fallen down and cut herself on glass,” Peary said. “She was taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center to be treated and has since been released.”
Peary said the investigation compiled physical evidence and information gathered from witnesses.
“Between initial and latter reports, we can say no arrests or charges have been made at this time,” Peary said. “There was partial cooperation by the victim, who denied she was stabbed, so we’ve spoken with DA’s office and presented evidence gathered and taken from witness accounts.”
Peary said it’s now up to the Penobscot County district attorney’s office to determine how to proceed.
Yup, fell down, ran into a door, hit with a softball….on and on. Sad.
Hmm, I remember only one kid ‘fell down and cut himself on glass.’ — he was running across the room with a water glass in his hand and tripped. Hey, if she believes she owes all that loyalty to the guy, heaven help her…
I wish all the young/older ladies would have the power and strength to file charges the first time they “walked into that door” or “fell down the stairs.” It’s not every man, but there are signs that women really should learn,and another thing I believe ladies should do BEFORE starting to date, is take a self defense class. 9 out of 10 women do not have the self esteem to take on a bullying boyfriend or husband. The men do not think before striking or choking “The one they love to death”…literally. Men have a lot of power in muscle and temper…..Then you stay,deny the stabbing..,what’s next the gun he accidentally drops and shoots you in the head. He gets away with murder because you didn’t want to anger him. Not to mention the time the police department wasted sending officers to save you, and then the taxpayers end up paying for “the cut she got from falling on glass.” I’m not posting this to be rotten I just wish women would realize that if he loved you he wouldn’t break your heart.
