BANGOR, Maine — A LaGrange man who allegedly threatened his 64-year-old father last November was indicted Wednesday on multiple charges by the Penobscot County grand jury.
Francis Hazlett, 26, was charged with robbery, assault, terrorizing and theft by unauthorized taking in connection with an incident that occurred on the night of Nov. 9 at his parents’ home in LaGrange.
“He threatened to use force but did not display a weapon,” Alice Clifford, assistant district attorney for Penobscot County, said at the time of Hazlett’s initial court appearance. “The father was not injured.”
Hazlett has a long criminal history and prior convictions for violence, Clifford said, adding that the dispute between the father and son was over money.
If convicted, Hazlett faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000 on the robbery charge alone.
