PRESQUE ISLE – Joan R. Coty, 77, passed away Monday night, Jan. 21, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 26, 1935, in Presque Isle, the daughter of James and Amy (Hafford) Stairs.
Joan worked as certified nurse’s aide.
She is survived by six daughters, Starlene Kotsi Koros of Hudson, Susan Jarvais and her husband, Ronald, of Virginia Beach, Va., Patty Corriveau and her husband, Jerry, of Yucaipa, Calif., Jean Brown of Presque Isle, Gail McNerney and her husband, Kevin, of Hudson and Cathy Kennedy and her husband, James, of Stafford Springs, Conn.; two sons, Paul Hart of Presque Isle and Andrew Kinney and his wife, Diane, of Presque Isle; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Dapheen McPherson and Mildred Hirst, both of Presque Isle; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Paul Hart and Clifford Coty; two children, Alice Lawliss and Tela Hart; two brothers, Dale Stairs and Ervin Brown; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from noon until time of service Saturday, Jan. 26, at Church of Jesus, Chapman Street, Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. with pastors Dave McClausland and Ronald LaPointe officiating.
