VINALHAVEN – Prescott J. Eaton III, 55, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at his home after a valiant battle with cancer. Born Feb. 19, 1957, in Blue Hill, he was the son of Erwyn J. and Mildred E. Neviles Beckman Eaton.
He attended area schools and worked primarily as a lobster fisherman.
He was predeceased by his parents, Erwyn J. Eaton and Mildred E. Beckman; his stepfather, Sigward W. Beckman; and two brothers, Erwyn J. Eaton Jr. and Nathan “Todd” Eaton. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Dickerson and her husband, Derek; three grandchildren, Parker Dickerson, Cooper Dickerson and Lily Slocomb; one sister, Jolene Swears and her husband, Richard Jr.; half brothers, Sigward W. Beckman Jr. and his wife, Darlene, and Stanley L. Beckman; his companion and caregiver, Kathy Wentworth, all of Vinalhaven; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
