CARY – Peter L. Knapp 62, passed away Feb. 13, 2013, at a Portland hospital with his family by his side, after a brief illness. He was born July 25, 1950, in Houlton, the son of Halson and Charlotte (Getchell) Knapp.
Peter worked as a carpenter and an over-the-road truck driver for many years. More recently he worked for Nickerson Construction, which he said was the best job he ever had. He was a strong caring man who was well liked by all who knew him, and will sadly be missed.
Peter is survived by his wife, Barbara (Boyd) Knapp; his son, Peter Knapp and his wife, Anna, of Kuala Lumpur, Malasia; his daughter, Michelle of Houlton; five very special grandsons, Devan Dow and Craig Dow, Aleksey, Aleksandr and Darien Knapp; four brothers, Jimmy, Jerry, Jack and Billy; three sisters, Daisy, Jane and Sue; several nieces and nephews, several sisters and brothers-in-law, as well as many, many friends. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Sonny; and sister, Janet.
Friends may call 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home until the time of service 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating.
