BANGOR – Carolyn (Pearce) Bartlett, 72, passed away March 3, 2013, after a brief illness at a Bangor hospital. Carolyn was born Sept. 28, 1940, in Fort Fairfield, to Frank and Blanche (Newcombe) Pearce.
Carolyn was a lively spirit, who enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, playing bingo and frequenting Hollywood Casino. Her favorite place on earth was deep in the woods of Northern Ontario, where she spent much of her youth and younger years fishing at her families sporting camps.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristine Moody of Orono; son-in-law, Tim Ward of Glenburn; and grandchildren, Cameron Ward, and Hannah and Sophie Moody. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her son, Marc Bartlett; and daughter, Karen Ward.
A memorial wake will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at Newman Center, 83 College Ave., Orono, where a memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Wilfred Labbe officiating. Donations may be made in her memory to All Saints Catholic School, P.O. Box 1749, Bangor, ME 04402, for a scholarship to support her granddaughters education.
