CUSHING AND YARMOUTH PORT, Mass. – Douglas Paul Adams passed away suddenly Monday, March 11, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of 41 years to Brenda J. Adams. He is also survived by his father, John J. Adams and mother, Arlene Adams, of Grafton, Mass.; one sister, four brothers, numerous family and extended family members, along with countless friends and wonderful neighbors.
Douglas proudly served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam era, with trips to the Arctic and Antarctic. He retired from Verizon after 37 years as an equipment installer in 2001. He was an avid woodworker and active member of Northford Timberframers, a group that is dedicated to raising barns throughout New England to raise funds for organ donor and transplant awareness.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, at First Congregational Church of Yarmouth, Route 6A, Yarmouth Port, Mass. Interment will be afterward at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northford Timberframers Transplant Fund, 254 Old Post Road, Northford, CT 06472.
