HODGDON and BOYNTON BEACH Fla. – Ethel Marie (Higgins) Hawkins, joined the legions of angels April 15, 2013. Ethel, daughter of Henry Higgins and Emma (Duff) Higgins was born July 21, 1924, in East Hodgdon.
She married the love of her life, Earl, September of 1945. They had five children; Wade, Marilyn, Roger, Brian and Gerald. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother as well as a generous and giving member of her church and community.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Leona; brother, Henry Jr.; granddaughter, Sarah Hawkins; and grandson, Thomas Anderson. Ethel is survived by her husband, Earl; her children; her sisters, Alene Call, Rowena Circo, Glennice Stevens and Ardis Records; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren scattered throughout the country.
A service celebrating Ethel’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. April 18, at Boynton Beach Congregational United Church of Christ, Boynton Beach, Fla. In lieu of flowers, please make donations payable in Ethel’s name to Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407 or to a charity of your choice.
