WATERVILLE, Maine — A Fairfield man is facing multiple charges after throwing a small baggie out of his car that contained oxycodone pills, police said.
Colby Michaud, 19, had been pulled over near an OUI checkpoint at 11 p.m. Friday for a defective license plate light, according to Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.
Michaud had tossed the drugs out of the driver’s-side window upon police activating their blue lights, Rumsey said.
Upon questioning, Michaud denied throwing anything out the window, but police retrieved a small foil wrapper containing two oxycodone pills, Rumsey said.
Michaud, who had also been drinking, was arrested and charged with possession of oxycodone, driving without a license, minor transporting liquor and falsifying physical evidence, Rumsey said.
Michaud was charged with driving without a license due to the fact he is under the age of 21 and had been drinking, Rumsey said. A bottle of vodka was found in his vehicle.
Michaud was taken to Kennebec County Jail and later released on bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 11.
