GLENBURN – Linda Emery passed away peacefully April 21, 2013, at home with family, after a 15 year battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jack; daughter, Susan Hawkins; daughter, Sharon Anderson; son, Stephen Hawkins; daughter, Jennifer Emery; grandchildren, Josh, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Aaron, Andrew, Coty and Tori; father, Myron Worster; brothers, Myron Jr., Keith and Peter; sister, Nancy McCormick; nieces, Darcy and Melissa; and nephew, PK Worster. Her mother, Charlotte Worster predeceased her.
Linda graduated from Mattanawcook Academy and earned two degrees from Beal College. She worked in restaurants, stitched in shoe factories, worked as an accountant and also sold real estate while raising four children and making a home. Linda loved visiting new and different places. She was a longtime member of Downeast Sportscar Club and New England Triumphs, and enjoyed the friendship and activities. Her travels with friends in their sports cars were some of her favorite memories. She loved her winters in Florida with daughter Sue, visits with Sharon and the grandchildren in Texas and spending time with Jennifer in North Carolina. Family meant a lot to Linda and her excursions with her father, Myron and sister, Nancy were special times. Everyone that knew Linda respected her strength and determination, even when the odds were against her. She defined real courage when it counted and she will be missed by all of us.
Graveside services will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made in her name to New Hope Hospice, 1344 Main Road, Eddington, ME 04428.
