GUILFORD – Millard G. Ordway, 90, died May 5, 2013, at his home. He was born March 14, 1923, in Sangerville, son of James and Thelma (Austin) Ordway.
Millard served with the eighth and ninth Air Force during World War II, and was awarded the Bronze Star medal. He retired after working for 33 years for the Bell Telephone System, later known as New England Telephone. Millard was a member of Abner Wade Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Sangerville, and was a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rachel (Blanchard) Ordway; and two sisters, Gloria Hall and Mildred Howard. He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Grotton and husband, Anthony, of Unity, Pamela Turner and husband, Dana, of Monmouth, and Carla Watt and husband, Scott, of Guilford; six grandchildren, Daryl Wentworth and wife, Kristen, Lori Aube, Melinda Thomas, Marsha Thomas, Erik Watt and wife, Kate, and Ian Watt and wife, Alina; and nine great-grandchildren.
