LEVANT – William Roy Ross, 62, died unexpectedly May 11, 2013, at his home. He was born July 30, 1950, in Levant, son of Eugene A. and Dorothy M. (Mayhew) Ross.
Surviving is his wife, Edna (Legassie) Ross of Levant; two daughters, Dawn Cormier and husband, Jon, and Melissa Bragg and husband, Darren; seven grandchildren, Lisa Ross and fiancé, John Paradis, Jordan Ross, Jonathan Cormier, Daniel Bragg, Emma Cormier, Grace Cormier and Wesley Bragg; great-granddaughter, Serenity Paradis; six brothers, Donald Ross and wife, Nesta, Cecil Ross and wife, Mary, Darrell Ross and wife, Shirley, Ronnie Ross, Melvin Ross and wife, Regina and Gary Ross; four sisters, Bernice Overlock, Virginia Overlock and husband, Rodney, Sandy Turner and Gerry Somers and husband, Jim; brother-in-law, Jim Hamm; sister-in-law, Gertrude Ross; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Willie was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Archie, Harrison, Albert and Dana; two sisters, Vivian and Evelyn; brothers-in-law, Fred Overlock, Mike Turner Sr., Henry Rines and Maynard Overlock; and sister-in-law, Shirley Ross. He was dedicated to his Jam musician friends and the many bands he was in. A special recognition to the Wass family, George and Rita Harnish; and most of all, his special musical nieces, Rhonda Ross, Tiffany Dorr; and nephews, Dale, Buzzy, Kevin Overlock, Mike Turner Jr., Pete Munn Jr., Dale Overlock Jr. and Dana Ross. He was happiest when he could share his musical talent with his friends, special friend, Stephanie Dunn and loyal fans as he loved them all.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 16, with special words shared by his nephew, Dale Overlock Jr. Interment will be at South Levant Cemetery.
