CASWELL – Joan J. King, 63, died unexpectedly May 18, 2013, at her home. She was born Nov. 2, 1949, in Van Buren, daughter of Percy and Theresa (Chamberlain) Berube.
She worked at Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Caribou, for more than 25 years. Joan was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church, Hamlin, and was a former Eucharistic Minister and religious education coordinator.
She is survived by her mother, Theresa Berube of Van Buren; two sons, Roger and wife, Lori, of Hancock and Scott and wife, Stephanie, of Limestone; daughter, Gail Cyr and husband, Steven, of Hampden; four sisters, Elaine Cote and husband, Larry, of Caswell, Diane Deeves and husband, Robert, of Hamlin, Lorraine Powers and husband, Albert, of Limestone and Blanche Street and husband, Barry, of Nebraska; two brothers, Michael Berube of Limestone and Percy Berube Jr. and wife, Doreen, of Van Buren; and four grandchildren, Kyle, Casey, Rebecca and Marcus. She was predeceased by her husband Roger W. King Sr.; father, Percy Berube Sr.; brother, Roger Berube; and her long time companion, Sheldon Lyons.
Relatives and friends may call 10:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, May 22, at St. Joseph Church, Hamlin. A funeral Mass will be held 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
