PRESQUE ISLE – Edith G. Slipp, 91, wife of the late Harold Slipp, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Caribou Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 8, 1921, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, daughter of Horace and Alice (Matheson) Stewart.
Edith graduated from Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia. She taught school for 30 years at Fort Fairfield High School. Edith enjoyed playing bridge and knitting, and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Robert Slipp and wife, Vicki, of Cambridge, Nova Scotia; sister, Betty Way of Cincinnati; favorite niece, Pamela W. Roy of Cincinnati; nephew, Stewart Way of Snellville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Laura Patterson of Weston, Nova Scotia, and Peter Slipp of Halifax, Nova Scotia; and two great-grandchildren, Ellen and Alyviah Patterson.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Donations may be made in her memory to Aroostook Agency on Aging, P.O. Box 1288, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Online condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
