CROUSEVILLE – Hebert G. Olson, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Maine Veterans Home, Caribou, with family at his side.
Herbert served his country in World War II in the 101st Airborne, Screaming Eagles. He received the Purple Heart while serving his country. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Elks Club. He was a loving compassionate father and husband.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Olson of Crouseville; six children, Thomas Olson and wife, Bette, of Crouseville, Dale Olson and fiancée, Diane Fillman, of Anchorage, Alaska, Sheila Bishop and husband, Dave, of Washburn, Mark Olson and fiancée, Penny Ellis, of Washburn, Sherrie Carmichael and husband, Mark, of Mapleton and Scott Olson and wife, Jennifer, of Crouseville; six granddaughters; two grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind sister, Anita Jones of Anchorage, Alaska; and brother, Albert Olson of Connecticut.
