CORINNA – Marie Delia Irene (Poirier) Maillet, 98, died May 28, 2013, at a Houlton health care facility. She was born May 20, 1915, in East Hartford, Conn., daughter of Epiphane and Philomen (Dube) Poirier.
Irene and her husband, Albert, moved to Corinna in 1974. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter. Irene will be remembered for her love of cats.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Henry Greenwood; her second husband, Albert Maillet; as well a brother; and five sisters. Irene is survived by brother, Alphonse and wife, Therese Poirior, of Malartic, Quebec; sister, Marie Anne Poirier of Laval, Quebec; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Rina Cloutier of Stacyville. Irene had many friends in Corinna, including special friends, Louise Irish, Irene and Richard Archer and Dalton and Donna Mullis.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at St. Anne’s Church, 64 Free St., Dexter, with the Rev. Fr. Paul Murray officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at Morse’s Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to St. Anne’s Church Building Fund, P.O.
