SACO, Maine — A dispute over a relationship with a man led to a Biddeford woman being placed under arrest Monday, according to police.
Shortly after 3 p.m., Saco police were called to a Sokokis Circle residence for a reported assault, according to Saco Deputy Police Chief Jeffrey Holland.
Monika Lavigne, 33, had gained access to the house through an unlocked screen door and punched a woman in the face, knocking out some of her teeth and making her mouth bleed, the deputy chief said. No weapons were used in the assault and the victim did not require hospital treatment.
Lavigne was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, a Class B felony, and burglary, a Class C crime.
She was taken to the York County Jail and later released on $1,560 cash bail. Holland said Lavigne’s court date is July 18.
