EAST MACHIAS – Victor Scott Harmon Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior June 13, 2013. He was born April 9, 1924, in East Machias, son of Earl and Leo Scott Harmon.
He resided in Chase’s Mills his entire life, leaving only twice, in 2011 to reside at the Maine Veteran’s Home, Machias, and to serve his country in the European Theater in the seventh Army Division, 409th Infantry, 1943-1946. He was severely wounded and spent more than a year in hospitals before coming home.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth (Sheridan) Harmon; three sons, Victor Scott Harmon and wife, Louise, Thomas C. Harmon and wife, Linda, and Wayne Vinton Harmon and wife, Jean; two daughters, Rosemary Harmon, and Joy Trott and husband, Shirl; eight grandchildren, Vicky and husband, Darren, Alan Curtis, Elly and husband, Tony, Joshua Harmon, Matthew and wife, Erin, Adam Hall, Caleb Trott and Trevor Trott; eight great-grandchildren, Kristina and husband, Nick, Shaylee, Julie, Jenny, Peter, Paul, Elizabeth and Jody; one great-great-granddaughter, Braylee Rose; three sisters, Shirley Vane, Vivian Kilton and husband, Steve, and Clara Campbell. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Clarence, Edwin, Herbert and Earl; sisters, Evelyn Huntley and little sister, Lois.
