MILFORD, Conn. – Alice M. Wilcox, 80, the beloved wife of the late Col. Lawrence R. Wilcox, U.S. Air Force, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 26, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at home. Born April 3, 1933, in Ellsworth, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Harriet Moore.
Prior to her retirement, Alice was a medical secretary for Veterans Affairs Hospital. Alice enjoyed using her cooking skills to try out new recipes and also loved to travel in her leisure. A devout and active member of her church, Alice will be remembered for her friendship, kindness and compassion. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she will be remembered for her spirited sense of humor and quick wit, and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her children, Joan Carmichael and husband, Bruce, of Manchester, N.H., Laraine Fenton and husband, Steven, of Milford, Conn., and Donald Berlekovic and wife, Pamela, of Milford, Conn.; stepchildren, Lynda Hillebrenner and husband, Gary, of Illinois, and Randy Wilcox and wife, Georgia, of Florida; cherished grandchildren, Robert Clark, Lauren Verner, Russell Clark, Jeffrey Carmichael and Steven Carmichael; siblings, Harry “Buddy” Moore of Ellsworth, Natalie Healy of Michigan and Donald Moore of Orono; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. The family extends their appreciation to Karlene from Helping Hands for her compassion and care of Alice for these past two years.
Friends and family may call 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 1, at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, Conn., where a prayer service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2. Burial will be after at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
