GRAY, Maine — Flash flood watches have been issued for much of the state Monday and into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy rain is forecasted to fall in south and western parts of the state Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. One to three inches of rain are expected.

Flash flood watches have been issued for Oxford, Franklin, Somerset, Cumberland, Androscoggin, Kennebec, Waldo, York, Cumberland, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Knox counties.

The flash flood watches will be in effect through Tuesday morning.
