ENFIELD – Rosalie Susan Ryder, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep, July 7, 2013, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Lincoln, daughter of Dean and Charlotte (Stevens) Blake.
Rosalie was predeceased by her husband, John Ryder; two brothers, Philip Blake and Malcolm Blake; and sister, Phyllis Kellogg. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Bill Rohrer of Dover, N.H.; three sisters, Muriel Cummings of Howland, Marilyn King of West Enfield and Joyce Theriault of Lincoln; grandson, Brian Rohrer and wife, Sarah, of Weatogue, Conn; granddaughter, Amy Latini and husband, John, of Brentwood, N.H.; and five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, Carson, Jenna and Marissa.
Rosalie graduated from Mattanawcook Academy, class of 1942. In the early 1950s, she and her family moved to Fairfield, Conn., where she lived for more than 25 years. She was a member of Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church. After the death of her husband in 1976, Rosalie moved back to Maine to be near family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
At Rosie’s request there will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Lincoln Cemetery, with the Rev. Roy Richardson officiating.
