MEDWAY – Michael Arthur Van Dine, 58, formerly of Medway, died July 7, 2013, in Frisco, Colo. He was born Jan. 28, 1955, in Millinocket, to Albert and Betty Van Dine and grew up in Medway.
Michael graduated from Schenck High School in 1974, entered the U.S. Army in 1975 and left the service in 1978. Michael traveled all throughout the U.S. with a knapsack on his back; he was a wandering soul. He was a talented carpenter/painter and also loved to help others. He was highly regarded by many, in many places. Michael loved Colorado and was at peace in the Rocky Mountains. He died peacefully there looking at the mountains’ tops around him.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Albert Coburn Van Dine. He is survived by his mother, Betty Van Dine Mc-Laughlin and Delmont McLaughlin; brother, Albert Van Dine and wife, Charlene, of Medway; sister, Joyce and husband, Everet Smith, of Jay; brother, Lee and wife, Wendy, of Englewood, Fla.; brother, Earl and wife, OkNan, of Halethorp, Md.; sister, Barbara and husband, Jim Pinette, of Millinocket; brother, Scott and wife, Erica, of Virginia Beach, Va.; uncles and aunts, who were very precious to him, Melissa and Byron Thompson, Roberta Snowman, Jacqueline and Ralph Savino, Earla and Steve Pelletier; many cousins, nephews and nieces.
A memorial service and luncheon will be held 10 a.m. Aug. 2 at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church, East Millinocket, with the Rev. Reggie Adams officiating. Interment will be at Grindstone Cemetery. Luncheon will be after the service. Join us in rejoicing in what God can do, and did do in Michael’s life. Bring your memories with you.
