UNITY – Bertha C. Knowlton, 81, died Aug. 7, 2013, at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Clifton, a daughter of Eugene and Mary (Gusha) Pinkham.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Knowlton Sr. of Troy; three sons, David Knowlton and wife, Tracey, who was a special daughter-in-law to Bertha, of Dixmont, Michael Knowlton of Unity, and Douglas Knowlton of Hartland; three daughters, Shirley Jewett and husband, Rick, of Dixmont, Roberta Bowden and husband, Bruce, of Etna, and Tammy Knowlton of Troy; a brother, Herbert Pinkham of Bangor; 21 grandchildren, Jason, Donna, Lisha, Andrea, Bridgett, Michael, Michelle, Alyssa, Alicia, Michael, Andy, Kendra, Allan, Josh, Candice, Miranda, Ashley, Matt, Melissa, Derrick and Daniele; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and many special friends at the Sandy Stream Village. She was predeceased by her son, Ernest Knowlton Jr.
