ORLAND – Frederick J. Mann, 63, died at his home Tuesday Aug. 6, 2013, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born July 2, 1950, the son of Walter and Phyllis (Colby) Mann.
Fred served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He worked for Verso Paper retiring in October of 2011. Fred touched a lot of people’s lives. All of his grandchildren adored him. Fred loved hunting and was especially fond of bear hunting. He enjoyed spending time at bear camp with his family, friends and his hound dogs. Fred loved his beer and smokes. He also enjoyed spending time on Facebook and watching Nascar.
He is survived by his fiancée, Cindy Harriman; two daughters, Annette Emery and her husband, Mark, Fred’s special friend and right hand man, Marie Smith and her husband, Don; three stepdaughters, Susie Mogan and her husband, Randy, Heidi Harriman, and Heather Thompson; grandchildren, Lorraine Kennedy, Windi Ashe, Zachary Emery, Jacob Emery, Eryne Mogan, and Reese Thompson; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Kenneth Mann and wife, Marilyn, and William Mann and wife, Virginia; one sister, Betty Reed; a special hunting buddy and friend, Hardy Lord; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother-in-law, John Reed.
