VAN BUREN – Yvette Desjardins, 81, passed away on Aug. 22, 2013, at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born July 28,1932, in Cyr Plantation, daughter of the late Guy and Yvonne (Perreault) Ouellette.
Yvette was a communicant of St. Bruno Church and was a member of the Daughter’s of Isabella, Evangeline Circle No. 464.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Conde A. Desjardins of Van Buren; two daughters, Amy Marslind and her husband, Dave, of Seattle, and Janice Kukles of Glendale, Ariz.; one son, Steve J. Desjardins and his girlfriend, Linda Poitras, of Van Buren; two grandchildren residing in Arizona; four sisters, Rene Cosmopoloues of Massachusetts, Agathe Simpson of Arizona, Gladys Ouellette of Connecticut, and Pauline Gendreau of Waterville; and three brothers, Louis Ouellette, Nathan Ouellette and Robert Ouellette all of Van Buren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald Ouellette and Leo Ouellette.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the St. Bruno – St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Family and friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Lajoie Funeral Home, formerly Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
