ROCKLAND, Maine — A 25-year-old Camden man who is accused of selling cocaine and heroin to a police informant is being held without bail.

Brian S. Lee was ordered held without bail by Judge Patricia Worth at a hearing Wednesday in Rockland District Court. He had been convicted in June 2012 of drug trafficking and was sentenced to three years in jail with all but 90 days suspended and had been placed on probation for two years.

The district attorney’s office filed a motion to revoke his probation based on the new alleged criminal conduct.

According to an affidavit filed in court, police had been alerted to drug dealing from a residence on Water Street in Thomaston. Last week, police arrested three people for allegedly dealing drugs from the residence. Police said at the time that they expected to make more arrests.

A confidential informant made a buy of cocaine and heroin from Lee on Sept. 9, according to the affidavit. Lee reportedly told police that he purchased the drugs from the Water Street residence and was selling those drugs to make some extra money.

Lee has not yet been charged with the new trafficking charges but he will be, according to the affidavit filed by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. Meanwhile, he will be in jail until a probation revocation hearing can be held.

Assistant District Attorney Chris Fernald asked for no bail, citing the lengthy jail sentence that Lee could face as well as prior bail violations. Defense attorney William Pagnano asked for lower bail, saying he was employed and has a child.

The judge sided with the prosecutor.
