CARMEL AND BREWER – Marguerite E. Moore, 88, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and special daughter, Shirley, on Sept. 16, 2013. She was born in Franklin, the daughter of Ellis and Henrietta (Foss) Springer.
Marguerite stayed home for her family until grown and enjoyed animals, gardening and growing flowers. Later she went to work and retired from Penobscot Job Corp. Her strong love for family was further nourished by her nearly life long membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a genealogy enthusiast, a devoted ward librarian and adored nursery leader. She actively organized the annual family reunion at Moose Point. The last five years of her life she enjoyed making many more new friends while residing at the Leach Home.
Surviving are four children, Henry Bunker of Albion, Beverly Foley and her husband, Michael, of Bangor, Pascal Moore and his wife, Joan, of Hampden, and Muriel Wood of Bangor; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Larissa Bilodeau and her husband, Emery, of Warren and Joyce Higgins of Farmington, N.H.; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Irvin Moore; a daughter, Shirley Stork; a grandchild, Brent Moore; and by six brothers and sisters. She will be missed by her “granddogs,” Faith and Hope.
Family and friends may visit 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A service honoring and celebrating Marguerite’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 639 Grandview Ave., Bangor. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Carmel. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Friends of Ellen Leach Home, to benefit resident activities, 58 Colonial Circle, Brewer, ME 04412.
