LINCOLN and NEW YORK – Wilma J. Jipson, 79, passed into eternal life on Oct. 3, 2013, at Schuyler Ridge Long Term Care Residence in Clifton Park, N.Y. She was born Jan. 18, 1934, in Lincoln, to the late Dean Davis and Idella (Knowlen) Davis.
Wilma enjoyed writing, painting, and crafting, but most of all her family. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Earl. For many years they traveled across the United States in their RV and wintered in South Carolina with the view of the ocean that she so enjoyed. She loved her Mattanawcook Lake and took comfort watching its seasonal changes.
Wilma is survived by her dearly loved daughters, Karen (Jipson) and husband, Lawrence Robbins, of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and Susan Jipson of Ellensburg, Wash.; two granddaughters, Christine Robbins of Cincinnati, and Stephanie Robbins of Arlington, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Wilma worked as a nurse’s aide at Gulesian and Workman Hospitals. After raising her family she graduated from the University of Maine at Orono and taught at the Middle School in Howland and in Lincoln until her retirement.
A graveside service will take place 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at Lincoln Cemetery, with the Rev. Chet Dana officiating. Those who wish may sign an online register and leave written condolences at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
