LUBEC – Robert Allen “Bob” Marston, 76, died unexpectedly Oct. 12, 2013 at his home in Lubec. He was born Aug. 17, 1937 the son of Norris L and Agnes M. (McCurdy) Marston.
He was a graduate of Lubec High School class of 1955. He then served in the U.S. Coast Guard beginning at the West Quoddy Rescue Station, serving at other New England stations, and then retired from the West Quoddy Station after twenty years of service. He continued his employment as a lobster fisherman, as well as working on the herring weirs. He enjoyed time with his family, cooking, reading, summers at his camper at Pleasant Lake, and gardening.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Teletha M. Beam in 2007. He is survived by four children – Betty and husband Peter E. Case, David and wife Debra Marston, Charlene Marston and partner Michael Tinker, and Sarah and husband B. George Swallow; grandchildren- Kelley Fitzgerald, David Case, Jason Marston, Daniel Marston, Vicki Marston, Sherri Pike, and Robert Swallow ; Great grandchildren- Brendan Fitzgerald, Shamus Fitzgerald, Alex Marotta, Chloe Savage, Sophie Parker, and Elizabeth Pike; his companion Joyce Nason and her children Colleen, Judy, and Carl.
Graveside services will be held 1 pm Saturday Oct. 19, 2013 at the Corey Cemetery, Lubec. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Lost Fisherman’s Memorial, PO Box 194, Lubec,ME 04652, or to the charity of ones choice.
