BREWER – Betty Lou Clayton, 72, died Oct. 15, 2013. She was born in Carroll, June 25, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Dwight and Rosalie (Danforth) Moores.
She is survived by her five daughters, Julie Kelley, Jenny Johnson, Jaylene Dill, Wilma Sywanyk, and Bessie Small; also a son, William Carmichael Jr.; two brothers, Lloyd and Hadley Moores; as well as two sisters, Barbara McDunnah, and Ann Hanson. In addition, she has 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Roger Moores; and was welcomed to Heaven with open arms and possibly a prank by her son, Thomas “Tommy Dill”, who passed away in 1978.
What can we say about our mother’s life? She loved each one of us as the individuals we are and she never ended a conversation without saying “I Love you Dear” or a sweet kiss on the cheek.
Mom was a hard worker, a loving soul and a wonderful cook, a skill she has passed on to her children as well as her grandchildren, but let’s not forget her wonderful sense of humor.
Although she was known by her grandchildren as “Grammy Carmichael,” “Grammy Jelly Bean,” “Grammy Brewer,” “Grammy Michael” or “Mammie,” we simply just knew her as “Mom.”
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kiley-Foley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. At Mother’s request there will be no viewing or services.
“We love you Mom and we’ll see you again someday.”
