BROOKS – Leif Weaver, 45, passed away Nov. 14, 2013.
Born in Dover-Foxcroft, Leif grew up in Ashland and Topsham and graduated from Mt. Ararat High School. He studied architecture and physics at the University of Texas at Austin. Leif’s life was defined by his boundless curiosity and quest for knowledge, his sense of adventure, love of physical activity outdoors, and deep love for his friends and family. He was always up for a challenge. His work designing environmentally-conscious homes combined his talents for art, math, science, and origami. He was a wicked Spades player and a martial artist; his prowess at games of strategy is legendary. He delighted in finding mentors and mentoring others in turn. He found peace and joy kayaking in heavy seas at night, hiking long distances in his beloved North Woods, stargazing, and wrestling with the mysteries of the universe.
Leif is survived by his wife, Becky; parents, Rhonda (Hanson) and Lloyd Weaver; brother and sister-in-law, Craig Weaver and Zoe Miller; sister, Fiona Warren-Bassett; grandmothers, Jean Hanson and Idyllene Warren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Stephanie Jackson and Joe Rosato; brother-in-law, Doug Jackson; nephews, Isaac and Asa Weaver; niece, Olivia Rosato; brothas from anotha motha, Kirk Hotte, Michael Aaron, and Scott Giroux; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
