MILFORD – Vera Mae Ambrose, 78, of Milford, died peacefully on Nov. 19, 2013, at a Bangor hospital, with her family by her side. She was born on May 4, 1935, in Macwahoc, the daughter of Carl and Ida Parks.
Vera was a graduate of Old Town High School in 1953. She went on to the banking industry and became the first female branch manager of Liberty Loan Corporation, after their relocation, Vera went on to a 23 year career as Deputy Tax Collector for The City of Old Town.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Paul E. Ambrose. Vera is survived by her sister, Harriet Lugdon and her husband, Royce, of Milford; her two daughters, Teresa St. Louis and her husband, Gregory, of Milford and Julie Ogden of Old Town; four grandchildren, Jesse Shaw and her husband, Brandon, of Milbridge, Terri Dunn and her husband, Michael, of Milford, Taylor Ogden and her fiancé, Cyrus Winingar, of Milford and Erica Ogden of Old Town; five great-grandchildren; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and an uncle. Vera will be missed by many, especially her family and her special friend, May Jones of Bradley.
Vera lived for her family always putting them first. Her biggest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At Vera’s request there will be no viewing. A remembrance service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at The First Congregational Church, Main Road, Milford.
