AMHERST, Mass. — A Maine man was arrested earlier this week in connecting with a stabbing in Massachusetts, according to police.

Noah Pfister, 24, of Camden, turned himself in to Amherst, Mass., authorities on Monday, according to a statement from Amherst police.

On Saturday, Amherst police responded to a residence for a reported disturbance and learned a man had been stabbed several times in the neck and chest, the statement said.

The victim, a 21-year old University of Massachusetts student, is expected to recover.

Pfister, who is facing a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, is not a UMass student, according to Amherst police.

Pfister is being held on $25,000 bail. He is expected to be arraigned on Saturday.
