EASTON – Patience Barbara Clark, 92, passed away Dec. 3, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Alfred W. and Mabel (Sherwood) Field.
Patience attended schools in Houlton, Bangor, Dover Foxcraft, Blaine and Mars Hill. She was a member of the class of 1941. On Nov. 2, 1939, she married Walter E. Clark of Easton, who predeceased her on May 1, 2005.
She enjoyed over 50 years as a member of the Zephyr Rebekah Lodge Number 44 of Easton and Starlight Rebekah Lodge Number 82 in Fort Fairfield where she received the Decoration of Chivalry in 1965 and served a term as District Deputy President. She was also a member of the Easton/Presque Isle Homemakers Extension Group and the Valrico Women’s Club in Brandon, Fla.
Patience and Walter spent 23 winters in Florida and made many friends in their retirement community. While there, she enjoyed making ceramics for her family and friends. She and Walter also spent many happy summers with family at Saint Froid Lake in Winterville where they had neighboring camps with her sister, Anna and brother-in-law, Frank Livingston.
In recent years, Patience enjoyed reading the newspaper and spending time with her family.
Patience was a dedicated farmer’s wife and mother of three daughters and one son, Betty and her husband, Kenneth Doty, of York, Joan and her husband, Gaylen Flewelling, Pauletta and her husband, Joseph Lockhart, and Harold and his wife, Barbara Clark, all of Easton.
Patience enjoyed her 10 grandchildren, Wanda, Kenneth Jr., Julie, Brent, Nicole, Walter, Kimberly, Shawn, Ryan, and Tyler; and her 20 great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Brandon, Ian, Drew, Collin, Carson, Kyle, Grace, Faith, Meredith, Evelyn, Logan, Seth, Tristen, Liam, Keeley, Savanna, Anna, Samuel, and Elijah; and great-stepgrandchildren, Ian and Miranda. She was also blessed with five great-great-grandchildren, Olivia, Dawson, Drew, Cody, and Linux. She is also survived by her sister, Rita June Field of Fall Brook, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Leola Field of Presque Isle, Hope Field of Mars Hill, and Inez Gordon of Sanborn, N.Y.
Patience was predeceased by her parents, as well as brothers, Alfred J. Field, Herald J. Field, Raymond J. Field, and Jack J. Field; and sister, Anna M. Livingston.
Friends and family may call noon-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where a celebration of her life will be held at1 p.m. with the Rev. Greg Jackson officiating. Interment will be held at Ladner Cemetery in the spring.
