GARLAND – Pauline Lawson, 87, passed away Nov. 26, 2013, after a short stay at the Dexter health care facility. She was formally from White Haven, Pa. She was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Meadow Run, Pa., a daughter of Lloyd and Violet (Michael) Hayes.
She graduated from White Haven High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa. She later received a Master’s Degree from Wilkes College, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Pauline was a retired elementary school teacher from the Hazleton School District, Hazleton, Pa. She was a member of White Haven United Methodist Church and Dexter United Methodist Church. She was a very active member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three children, James Lawson of White Haven, Pa., Danette McNelis of Great Meadows, N.J., and Sanders Lawson of Garland. She also is survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John Lawson; and son, Richard Lawson.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to your local favorite charity. Graveside committal services will held in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
