PORTLAND, Maine — A New York man will spend the next 12 years behind bars after he was sentenced on drug charges Monday.
Roger Burke, 31, received a 151-month sentence in U.S. District Court by Justice D. Brock Hornby, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty II.
Burke was arrested in Topsham in October 2012 after he and another suspect, whose name was not disclosed, tried to deliver more than 20 grams of heroin to a cooperating informant working with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.
Burke pled guilty to the charges in August. This marks his third drug trafficking conviction, making Burke a career offender, subject to a longer prison term.
