BANGOR – David M. Brewster, 57, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 18, 1956, in Bangor, the son of Lawrence and Marilyn (McGinty) Brewster.
David grew up in Bangor and played on his school baseball team. He went to work for Mount Hope Cemetery as a groundskeeper for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and baseball, and was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. David liked video games, monopoly, and was a NASCAR fan of Dale Earnhardt. He was a kind hearted man and friend. His spirit will live on in his children and will always be with those who knew him and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
David is survived by his two daughters, Heather Brewster of Calais, and Ashley Brewster of Bangor; two grandchildren, Xavier Holmes and Adilynn Bennett; two sisters, Robin Brewster of Bangor, and Joanna Cullins of Oregon; nephews, Jim and Sean Cullins; and a niece, Jennifer Cullins all of Oregon. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his fiancée and longtime companion, Sonia Lee Robbins, whom he dearly missed.
A memorial reception will be held at 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor. A graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, at a later date. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
