BANGOR, Maine — A local man who has a revoked license was arrested Thursday after he was found driving while intoxicated, police said.

Adam Chapa, 27, was spotted driving erratically on State Street around 10:30 a.m. by Bangor police Officer Jeremy Brock, according to Sgt. Cathy Rumsey.

After determining Chapa was under the influence, Brock arrested him for OUI, Rumsey said. The OUI charge rose to a felony due to prior convictions on Chapa’s record.

Shortly after, the officer determined that Chapa had a revoked license, so he was also charged with operating after revocation, along with violation of conditions of release, as Chapa was on bail from a previous charge at the time of the incident, Rumsey said.

Chapa was brought to Penobscot County Jail following his arrest.
